A local animal rescue group thought of a creative way to raise money for their dogs and cats in need of forever homes!

Hearts Alive Village decided to create a 2018 calendar of attractive men holding puppies in need of homes!

"It actually kind of started out as a joke," said Sheryl Green with Hearts Alive Village.

Green and her team found a bunch of men to have a photo shoot with photographer Melanie Rose a couple weeks back. The pictures will go on a calendar and be sold for $20 each.

"They look outstanding," said one of the models Jason Griego. "They look great. I'm really excited to see how the final product comes out."

Hearts Alive Village started four years ago after the founder learned it was her young daughter's wish to start an animal rescue group.

They've already saved and placed 741 pets into forever homes. They also feed 300 dogs and cats monthly in low income homes.

The calendars are available for pre-order and will be in the store by December 15.

The money will go directly to the animals. Many of them have very expensive vet bills.

Hearts Alive Village also hopes the calendar pictures will help the dogs find homes. They currently have 40 dogs and cats that need homes.

The group is also doing a FUNDrive December 1 to December 13. If you drop off gently used clothing, shoes, and household items - the rescue group gets paid by the pound for your items!
