LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman is feeling "under the weather" and will not attend today's City Council meeting, the city says.

Her swearing in ceremony was scheduled for April 17 and is being pushed back.

Earlier this year, Goodman announced that she has Stage 2A cancer in her right breast. She said she is "completely healthy" and can continue to work effectively as the mayor during treatment.

Goodman received the diagnosis on Jan. 16 after her routine annual exam.

On April 2, she overwhelmingly won a third and final term in office, matching her husband Oscar Goodman's 12-year span running the city.

The city says Ward 5 Councilman Cedric Crear’s swearing in will go on as planned.
