LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A man is dead after being shot near the Strip.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 5:04 p.m. in the 300 block of West Sahara Avenue. Arriving officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a "nearby parking lot."
Medical personnel transported the victim to UMC Trauma, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police say an investigation revealed that the victim was in the parking lot when an "unknown male" shot the victim and fled the scene before police arrived.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
