RENO (AP) — A man was sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer in Owyhee with a screwdriver.
Richard Frank Roa Jr. previously pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer in the November 2017 attack.
Authorities say the assault occurred after Roa’s father told police his son was causing a disturbance and damaging a vehicle at his home.
Officials said the officer was assaulted while he was trying to arrest Roa.
