Police are investigating a homicide.

It was reported on Monday around 2:02 p.m. Officers went to an apartment located in the 200 block of West Boston Avenue to investigate complaints of heavy foot traffic in and out of an apartment that was vacant and had been boarded up.

Officers noticed the boards securing the apartment had been removed, and upon entry into the apartment, officers discovered an adult male who appeared deceased.

Medical personnel pronounced the man deceased and found an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators say the apartment was last known to be secured with plywood covering the door at about 9 p.m. on April 3.

On April 4, a neighbor noticed the plywood had been removed from the door. It is believed the victim was shot sometime during the overnight hours.

No suspect or suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown. The identity of the deceased man, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
