One man dead, another arrested in bar fight

Posted
A 47-year-old Henderson man was arrested on murder charges late Thursday in connection with a November 2014 fight inside a Henderson business.

Steven Phillip Dyer was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on murder charges late Thursday. He was arrested without incident at his home.

On Nov. 10, 2014, Steven Dyer and 48-year-old, Scott Snyder, got into a verbal argument which turned into a physical altercation at the Gold Mine Tavern, located at 23 Water St., during a game of pool.

Dyer is accused of punching Snyder in the head causing serious injuries.

Snyder was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. At the time of the incident, Dyer was arrested for battery with substantial bodily harm and booked into Henderson Detention Center.

Snyder subsequently died from his injuries on June 6, 2015 and Dyer’s charges were amended to open murder.

The Clark Coroner ruled the man’s death was attributed to the physical altercation.

The man’s death is the third murder in Henderson this year.
