A man and a child have been hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Lamb and Charleston boulevards on the east side of the valley.
The incident was reported at 2:08 p.m. The man was transported to University Medical Center and the child was sent to UMC Pediatrics. The extent of their injuries are not known at this time.
Police officers are currently shutting down traffic in the area. Motorists should avoid the area.
The driver, who was in a black, four-door vehicle, stayed at the scene and is cooperating. It is not known if the pedestrians were in a crosswalk.
