JUNE 13 UPDATE: The Blue Lives Matter March that was scheduled for this weekend has been postponed.
Organizer and conservative author and radio host Wayne Allen Root says the event is being postponed at the request of police because of safety concerns.
13 Action News spoke to Root on June 13.
Root says that he was expecting at least 10,000 people to intend. He also said that he hopes to have an even bigger event in the fall.
The president of the NAACP released a statement calling the march a “direct slap in the face to Black Lives Matter protesters and the black community."
Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Michele Fiore had already pulled her support of the event.
