The error prompted a global grounding of all Delta flights. The ground stop was lifted early Monday morning.
The outage and grounded flights are expected to cause a ripple effect to later Delta flights.
As of 10:30 a.m., Delta said it had canceled over 450 flights, and had operated just over 1,600 of their nearly 6,000 scheduled flights for Monday.
The airline expects the number of canceled flights to grow throughout the day.
Flight delays at McCarran ranged from 45 minutes to three hours.
"It's just aggravating, it's so annoying," says one delayed traveler, Chelsea Reynolds. "We're just tired and ready to get home already, and we haven't even started our flight yet.."
Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
