Good news. It looks like Nevada residents won't have to pay for parking once MGM Resorts International begins charging for parking at their properties on the Las Vegas Strip. At least not for now.
An email was sent to multiple locals explaining the decision.
MGM Resorts is planning to charge for parking at Aria, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, New York-New York and Vdara beginning June 6. Beginning June 7, they will be charging for parking at Excalibur, Luxor and Circus Circus valet. Next will be MGM Grand and The Mirage on June 8 and Delano and Mandalay Bay on June 13.
The maximum self-parking fee will be $10 per day and the valet parking fee will top out at $18.
But, locals will not have to pay anything. At least for the time being.
Nevada residents will be allowed to self-park for free at any of the properties except during special events through Dec. 29.
After Dec. 28, residents can continue to take advantage of free parking by signing up for M Life Rewards loyalty program and meet certain requirements.
