Burglars continue to target businesses across the valley and their newest target; beauty salons.
Windows were shattered and salons were trashed at Phenix Salon Suites on Blue Diamond Road, last Tuesday.
"By the time the police let us come in, the salon was a mess, every room was hit and some rooms were destroyed," said Janae Gamble, whose salon was destroyed.
Beautician Alana Castillo had $500 in merchandise stolen. Although it may not seem like a lot, every penny matters to the local business owner.
"We come in and we lose business because of it ....and for what?" Gamble said.
It's also not the first time thieves has targeted beauty salons.
"They said that they hit about 16 other salons." Gamble said.
Metro says salon burglaries are not on the uptick, but owners are still on high alert.
"If one of us were to be here late and there is some kind of altercation that could be a very dangerous and a bad situation," said Ashley Cook, another beauty salon owner.
Currently, Metro has made no arrest in the burglary.
