Most gyms test your body percentage or BMI when you join. A new Las Vegas gym is taking your blood.
"We have a phlebotomist who basically draws 5 viles of blood from you," says BioMetrixowner, Gene Carrejo.
Carrejo tells 13 Action News it's a way to look at your health from the inside, before they start working on the outside.
"What we try to do, first of all, is fix what's going on internally with you," says Carrejo.
BioMetrix has put a health clinic and a gym under the same roof. The blood you give is sent to Texas for testing where experts look at things like hormones, genetics, DNA, and thyroid. Then, trainers build a health and fitness plan based on what you're experiencing medically.
Carrejo calls it a one-stop shop, and believes it's the key to weightloss.
"I think looking at health and wellness proactively, instead of reactively, is the key to success," says Carrejo. "I think that's what we're doing."
