Year five of Life is Beautiful is just a few weeks away. For some people living downtown, it's the most dreaded time of the year since 18 blocks are closed down for the party.
This year, the festival is September 22, 23, and 24. 'Doors open' at 2 p.m. and the music will stop at 1 a.m.
In the past, people living downtown get upset because their normal five minute walk to the market might take them 45 minutes due to road closures and alternate routes.
This year, a shuttle is being added to help get people around more quickly and efficiently. Some people can obtain passes to bypass the road closures also.
"We know that people are inconvenienced during the time, we just hope they can see the overall benefit to it to having an event like this in our downtown area," said Esther Reincke with the City of Las Vegas.
According to a notice from Life is Beautiful:
"Bus routes for the area will have detours during the week leading up to the festival and the days of the festival itself. Please be sure to check the RTC website for more information. Please note the following routes will change: Route 113, Route 207, Route 215, Deuce, and BHX"
The festival sold out in just 90 minutes for the first time ever.
