A former Clark County School District teacher is currently serving time for inappropriately touching his students and a federal lawsuit has been filed against CCSD by two parents.
The lawsuit claims that CCSD did not do enough to protect their children from Jeremiah Mazo, who was a music teacher at Hayden Elementary School.
The lawsuit says that Mazo was a teacher at Simmons Elementary until 2008 when he was arrested and charged for molesting students.
The charges were dropped and Mazo was transferred to Hayden Elementary.
The parents believe that the school district should have fired Mazo instead and is now blaming them for placing their children in danger.
The lawsuit also names Mazo.
Mazo originally faced 32 separate counts of child molestation, but avoided a trial by pleading guilty to 3 lesser charges. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison in December.
It is possible that there are more victims of Mazo who have not come forward.
