LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas valley water ranks second in the West-Large category, with a score of 760 out of 1000, compared to a category average of 728.

Specifically, 25% of Americans surveyed say they never drink their tap water due to some combination of bad taste, bad smell, high mineral content, and overall general fears about water safety.

The study describes how this could create serious challenges for regional water utilities, particularly those in Western and Southern states, and how fixing it will require a big focus on infrastructure, both to fix the underlying quality issues as well as make utilities better able to communicate with customers.
