LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Every year thousands of students hope to make it inside the Smith Center for a chance to compete in Nevada's High School Musical Theater Awards.
This year, Sophia Wilson and Joey Cooper won best actor and best actress at the awards which scored the pair a trip to Broadway.
For ten days, Wilson And Cooper lived in a dorm at NYU, saw a Broadway musical, and spent time training with Broadway stars.
Wilson and Cooper are now headed off to college to study Theater and Music.
To make it to Nevada's High School Musical Theater Awards next year, students must play a leading role in their high school production and be recommended by their school.
