A California police officer who was shot in the head during the 1 October shooting is back to work.
When Michael Gracia woke up in the hospital after the shooting, he was not even able to speak. The Ontario police officer had to learn to talk all over again.
"That was my goal, to get better so I can take care of my daughter and fiancée," Gracia said.
He plans to make his way back to patrol but for now he's serving the community in house until he completely heals.
"Talking to the public is therapy for me to get me talking better," Gracia told KABC in Los Angeles. "Getting back into that routine of helping people and talking to them.
