Las Vegas resident Eric Simmons was named Southwest Regional Electrician of the Year by Klein Tools. Simmons was selected over hundreds of applicants for his professional achievement, safety excellence, and community dedication.
With over 20 years experience in the field, Simmons is licensed as a master electrician, electrical contractor or electrical administrator in 15 states. He currently works for Helix Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors in the nation, as a senior project manager, and has received numerous awards for his technically challenging projects.
Simmons regularly teaches safety classes for his employer and other organizations throughout the community. He also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, various apprenticeship programs, and Street Teens, a nonprofit organization that helps homeless and at-risk teens.
The grand prize winner of the Electrician of the Year awards will be announced October 8. The winner will receive $2,500 a year in free Klein Tools for 10 years.
