LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Shay Mikalonis underwent jaw surgery over the weekend and remains in critical condition, according to a member with a Facebook group for officers' wives.
Mikalonis was shot while arresting protesters near the Circus Circus hotel-casino on June 1.
He was reportedly shot by a 20-year-old man named Edgar Samaniego, who was staying at the Travelodge near the hotel-casino.
