A Las Vegas police officer was hit by a car on the Strip early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard near Flamingo Road.
The officer was trying to detain someone who then fled. The suspect ran onto Las Vegas Boulevard with the officer in pursuit and they were both hit by a passing vehicle.
Both the officer and suspect were taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Northbound Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down between Flamingo and Spring Mountain roads for hours as police investigated.
