LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Missing Persons Detail is asking for the public's assistance in locating 26-year-old Jawaher Hejji. She might possibly be in severe emotional distress and in need of medical assistance.

Hejji was last seen on Dec. 22 at about 12 p.m. near 9100 Las Vegas Boulevard South near Pebble Road.

Police previously said that Hejji was last seen in the 300 block of Shadow Canyon Drive in Henderson.

She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie and black sweat pants. She is 5-feet 8-inches tall and 190 pounds.

According to LVMPD’s website, it is their policy to conduct thorough missing persons’ investigations to ascertain the possibility of a criminal act, to quickly initiate searches to reduce the possibility of harm to missing persons, and to return missing children to their families as soon as possible.

However, it also notes than an average of 5 to 7 adults are reported missing every day in Las Vegas. That’s approximately 200 people per month. Most of those adults choose to go missing.

Law enforcement does not request the help of the media to locate missing people until they believe there is a reason to believe the person is endangered either because of health problems, emotional issues or foul play.

Anyone with information regarding Hejji and her whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact LVMPD at (702) 828-3111 or by email at missingpersons@lvmpd.com.
