LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition at UMC after both were shot multiple times at a Las Vegas rental car store.

It happened at 12:32 p.m. at the Avis in the shopping center at 4600 W. Sahara Ave., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say a man and a woman were inside Avis completing a rental car transaction.

While inside, the suspect drove up in the alley behind the store in a white pickup truck and parked it where rental cars are returned.

The two victims stepped outside and the man got into a verbal argument with the male pickup truck driver.

The truck driver began shooting at the man, who was shot and dropped to the ground. The suspect then turned his attention to the woman, shooting her multiple times.

The male victim, in his 30s, fled inside Avis.

The suspect then got into his truck and fled south to Sahara and was last seen heading west on Sahara Ave.

The suspect is a Black male with a heavy build in his 30s or 40s. He was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with dark or black pants and dark shoes.

Police say the two victims were targeted by the suspect and this was not a random crime.
