LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide Wednesday night.

Police are on scene at the 700 block of Bloomingfield Lane. This is near the intersection of Buffalo Drive and W. Charleston Boulevard.

Wednesday evening, police received a call from a woman stating that her boyfriend shot a man inside their home.

Police arrived at the residence and saw a woman and two juveniles in front of the house. The woman told police that her boyfriend was still inside the home.

Police went inside the house and located the boyfriend and took him into custody without incident.

Preliminary information gathered by police indicated that the man who was shot was a Black man around his 40s.

The man was in an altercation with the woman who called police outside in front of the residence. Police said this was when the man took a bat from a vehicle trunk and started hitting other cars with the bat.

Police continued saying that the man walked to the woman's residence and kicked a door down. The man continued walking to the backyard, and police said that's when he got shot.

Police said in the media briefing that they are still confirming all of the information gathered.

KTNV will provide more information when available.
