Las Vegas Olympian Cody Miller took the bronze in the 100-meter breaststroke on Sunday, according to the Wall Street Journal

While Adam Peaty of Great Britain took the gold with a world record time of 57.13, Miller set the American record with a time of 58.87.

Miller revealed in an Imgur post that he was born with Pectus Excavatum, a medical term for a sunken sternum which creates a reduced lung capacity. He was also diagnosed with asthma when he was in college.

Still, Miller dedicated his life to swimming, earning several awards as an NCAA athlete at Indiana University. The 2016 Rio Olympics was his first Olympic games.
