The holiday travel season is getting underway and more than 54 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more away from home this year.
Travel times are expected to start increasing today and could be four times longer than they are for a normal trip.
The best days to travel are Thanksgiving Day and the day after. The worst day will be Sunday as everyone starts to head home.
McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas is offering several Turkey Day travel tips.
They say that passengers should be prepared for it to take a little longer to park if Terminal 1 reaches capacity, which could happen.
They are also advising travelers to check McCarran's website to find out exactly where ticket counters are located.
And, if you are picking people up, remember that you can not park along the curb to wait so be sure to utilize the short-term parking lot or the cell phone lot.
