Strong gusts blow though the Las Vegas valley, causing damage.

The winds were strong enough uproot a tree and send it crashing onto a pickup truck.

"I was asleep and I heard this big bang, I thought it was a car crash," said Eliana Dilucas.

But it wasn't a car crash, it was the wind knocking a tree onto her neighbors truck.

"When I came around," said Dilucas. "You could see the whole tree on top of the truck. It literally fell on the truck but the boom it scared me cause you would think, 'oh my god was there a car accident outside, did someone get hurt.'"

Adelene Urbina was stunned when she got a call from her apartment complex saying a tree fell on her families truck.

"I'm in shock, nervous to see what had actually happened, to see how much damage was done to the truck," said Urbina.

Luckily there was only a small dent but it could have been so much worse.

"I'm thankful none of us were inside there. I'm thankful for nothing bad happening to us or the truck as well," said Urbina.

Despite it's size crews worked quickly and were able to have the downed tree cleared out in a matter of hours.
