Kohl's locations are preparing for the late holiday rush even earlier this year, announcing Wednesday they are starting their hiring process for seasonal workers.
The department store has started preparing to hire for more than 300 of its 1,100 U.S. stores, in anticipation of the back-to-school, fall and holiday season.
"We are hiring seasonal associates earlier than ever to ensure our teams are fully staffed, trained and ready to support peak shopping seasons," Ryan Festerling, Kohl’s executive vice president, said.
Stores will first allow current employees to increase their hours if they'd like, before bringing in additional seasonal workers based on each store's need, according to Festerling.
Positions are being considered for the company's stores, distribution and fulfillment centers, and credit operations starting in August.
