LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An active Fourth of July holiday led firefighters to their busiest day of the year in Las Vegas.

Five homes in the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue jurisdiction were damaged overnight, and fire crews haven't ruled out fireworks as a cause.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Tim Szymanski said the majority of the day's 146 calls for fire service, some which turned out to be unfounded, were outdoor fires in grass, garbage, and trees lit by fireworks.

Szymanski said no one was injured by the house fires, but several people were displaced from their homes.
