The U.S. added nearly 300,000 jobs in June, but things aren't so rosy for everyone here in Las Vegas.
Scotty Cover attended a job fair last month right before his rent was about to increase.
Not being able to afford the increase, the 69-year-old is now searching for work after 10 years of retirement.
He says the job fair wasn't very helpful because most of the employers simply directed him to their online applications.
The six-month-and-counting search has Cover feeling depressed.
He's visiting doctors for stress and psychiatrists for depression.
"It's hard when you're my age and don't have anyone," Cover said.
Through it all, he confidently calls himself a survivor.
"I'll be ok, you know," Cover said. "Have to be."
Cover's looking for work in customer service or human resources.
He has an interview for a part-time telemarketing job next week.
