One of our viewers took a picture that she said shows school faculty or teachers smoking on campus at a local middle school.
It was not what former professor Rosemarie Brobeck wanted to see during school hours.
"As I was passing Keller Middle School coming back from shopping, there were three teachers outside smoking on school grounds, not on the sidewalk, but on school ground towards the shade of the tree," said Brobeck.
Action News sent the picture to the Clark County School District.
First, they told us the women in the photo are on the sidewalk. Then, they said they could not tell for sure. Brobeck insists they were on the sidewalk and said this is not an isolated incident.
"I've seen this happen over probably two years, ongoing for two years," she said. "It's not the only school I see teachers smoking on school grounds. I see it at El Dorado, I see it at Las Vegas High School."
CCSD banned smoking on school campuses in 1991, and revised it in 2004 and 2014.
They said in a statement:
"School officials will investigate the situation and take appropriate action, including reminding those who wish to smoke that they must stay off school property and keep both feet on the public right-of-way."
"The kids probably think, 'well if they can do it why can't I,'" said Brobeck. "Definitely a bad example for the young kids."
