YOU ASK. WE INVESTIGATE. Mice taking over east Las Vegas apartment complex

Posted
Folks at an east Las Vegas apartment complex say their apartments are infested with mice.

Brandy Brown said she has been trapping mice in her apartment near Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard since this summer.

"If we have seen five alone in the month of November, how many more are there?" she asked.

Her neighbor says she has the same issue. Lonaral Henkins said one ran across her in bed.

"I'm afraid that one is going to bite me and you know they carry a lot of diseases," said Henkins. "I can't live there."

Management at Stonegate West has given them mousetraps, but the mice haven't stopped coming.

"It's disturbing and it's unnerving," said Brown. "At one point when I first heard them squeaking, I was scared to go to sleep."

13 Action News went to the office to talk with management.

They told us they have been putting traps inside and outside the units and have used an external pest control company for the last six weeks.

When we pressed them, they said they will let people in the affected units get out of their lease without penalty.
