YOU ASK. WE INVESTIGATE. Dog left behind when tenants move out

Property manager not sure what to do
Posted
A property manager came to check out a house after her tenants moved out but found their dog still living there.

Property manager Michele Brown said she got confirmation her tenants moved out of the house near Walnut and Gowan roads and said they told her they would mail her their copies of the house keys.

Brown went to the home to make sure it was secure and found their dog sitting alone in the backyard. She said she called the former tenants, but they did not answer or call back.

"According to neighbors they've been gone for a while, so I'm obviously very concerned," said Brown. "The dog is much skinnier than I've ever seen the dog before."

Brown said the tenants told her they would move out on Nov. 28, but no one knows exactly how long ago they left the dog in their backyard.

A neighbor told her they tried to feed the dog and called Animal Control. They have been to the house and left two notices.

We contacted a German Shepherd rescue. They are working to try and gain the dog's trust but said he bares his teeth at them. But they say they will keep feeding him and trying to help him.
