Ketcham asked the woman if she felt like she was going to die.
"Yes, and he told me we were both going to die today," said the woman.
She is 46 years old and tells Channel 13 she tried to get her ex-boyfriend to leaver her house, but he didn't.

“He started just acting irrational to the point that he scared me and I had to call 9-1-1. I went to my closet in one of my bedrooms to call 9-1-1," said the woman. “At one point in the house I fought for my life. He grabbed me by my hair and tried to slam my face to the floor.”
She says he didn't stop there.
"Then he got the knife from the kitchen and he chased me out of the house and the cops were ready with firearms drawn," said the woman.
According to Henderson Police Captain Benson Harper, for the victim's safety, police began to shoot at the suspect.

She tells Ketcham, she owes her life to police and their quick actions.
“You saved my life today, I really felt he was going to get that knife stuck in me, had he stabbed me once he would’ve kept going. He wanted to have his life end today as well," said the woman.
A nearby neighbor says he and his wife saw it all happen.

“I went back in and my wife heard pop, pop, pop, pop. Just like that," said Peter Seagrave who lives nearby where the deadly shooting happened. “They did bring the man out, they brought him around the corner and they tried to give him CPR.”
Police say the man died on scene, but they say the woman was not injured.
The woman tells Channel 13, this is not the first domestic violence situation she's been through. Police say they've been to the home before.

“There is a history of prior calls but the specific number I don’t have," said Henderson Police Captain Benson Harper.
She tells Channel 13, she used to live with her ex-husband of 5 years and then lived with her ex-boyfriend, the suspect in this case, for a little less than a year at this location.
She claims both of the men are abusive and were in-and-out of jail constantly.

Henderson Police says they provide help for domestic violence victims.
“If you are experiencing issues with domestic violence, there is help available. You can reach out to the Henderson Police Department and we will provide you with the resources to get that help," said Harper.
While police continue their investigation into this deadly shooting, we will work to get more details for you.
This is a developing story.
