UPDATE: Ricardo Valencia was recaptured at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday in Reno.

The Reno Police Department was first on scene and took him into custody.
 
Valencia was returned to Northern Nevada Correction Center.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KTNV) -- A minimum security inmate walked away from a Carson City camp Sunday morning.

According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, 27-year-old inmate Ricardo Soria Valencia walked away from Stewart Conservation Camp located next to Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.

Staff from the Department of Corrections and investigators from the Office of the Inspector General are searching for Valencia who was discovered missing around 11:40 a.m.

Valencia began his sentence on March 9. He was serving 2 to 5 years for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Valencia is 5 feet 7 inches tall, brown eyes, black hair and approximately 150 pounds. He has a number of tattoos including three dots on each hand and his last name “Valencia” across his back. Valencia was last seen wearing blue jeans, white T-shirt and blue or white sneakers.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Valencia is asked to call 911 or local law enforcement.
