A 69-year-old inmate died Sunday at a conservation camp in Indian Springs.
The Nevada Department of Corrections reported around 3:20 p.m. inmate John Silva was found unresponsive in his bed at Three Lakes Valley Conservation Camp located at Indian Springs. Medical staff arrived within moments and lifesaving measures were taken.
American Medical Response was called to the scene and paramedics pronounced Silva. Silva was committed from Clark County on June 20, 2013 and he was serving 2 to 10 years for driving under the influence.
The Clark County Coroner responded and an autopsy is scheduled. Next of kin have been notified.
