LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police say an inmate on house arrest has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the police department, officers responded to reports on Wednesday that a person was shot inside an apartment on North Rainbow Drive between Cheyenne Avenue and Smoke Ranch Road.

There, they found the man and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Investigators say he was placed on house arrest in August of 2020.

Police did not have any interaction with him prior to being found dead, the department says.

The man's identity and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's office.
