The uptick in violence on the Las Vegas Strip has the attention of Las Vegas Metropolitan Department and the Clark County Commissioners.
The captain of Metro's Convention Center Area Command talked about Operation Persistent Pressure yesterday.
It started about three weeks ago as an effort to keep everyone safe.

He says violent crime in the resort corridor is up more than 4% compared to last year.
However, other crimes such as sexual assaults are down.
He adds that in the convention center area, officers made hundreds of arrests last month.

The captain also says officers in his area made almost 1,500 total arrests in the last two months.
