United Flight 1179 turned back to McCarran International Airport due to engine overheating. The plane is a Boeing 737.
There were 162 passengers onboard. The flight landed back at McCarran at 3:43 p.m.
The aircraft was declared all clear by the Clark County Fire Department at 3:55 p.m.
All passengers were safe.
