The Las Vegas Fire Department is reporting that a house was struck by lightning on Thursday.
It was reported on Meadowgrass Lane, near Jones Boulevard and Twain Avenue around 2:51 p.m.
Firefighters responded to the “high” level house fire response sending 4 engines, 1 truck, 1 rescue, and 2 battalion chiefs which included resources from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.
Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke showing from the roof a single-family house. Crews made an offensive attack and knocked the fire down at a reported time of 3:15 p.m.
The fire is under investigation. Southwest Gas and Nevada Energy were notified to respond to assist with utilities.
There have been no injuries reported. Damages have not been estimated
