A female hiker was found unresponsive on the Gold Strike Trail Wednesday afternoon.
The call came in around 3:30 p.m. Lake Mead officials were unable to airlift her out due to power lines. The woman had to be carried out and then taken to Hoover Dam Lodge where she was then taken to University Medical Center.
Her condition is unknown.
Heat may have been a factor. Gold Strike Trail is one of the trails that will be closed May 15 for the season due to high temperatures and the safety of hikers and employees.
