High winds continue around Las Vegas

High winds continued around Clark County Tuesday.

It had been windy most of Monday around the valley, with the southern and western parts hit hard in particular.

A high wind warning was in effect for Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon where winds had been expected to peak at 70 mph.  A wind advisory was in effect for the Las Vegas valley with winds expected to gust around 50 mph for most of the valley with peak gusts to about 60 mph expected in the Summerlin/Centennial Hills area.  

The winds hadn't caused much damage around the valley yet but a palm tree fell on an SUV near Blue Diamond Road and Durango Drive Monday.
