The Clark County School District is interviewing the final six Superintendent candidates on Friday. Here is a bit of background information on each candidate:
Mike Barton
Currently, Dr. Barton is serving as the Chief Academic Officer for CCSD, as well as an adjunct professor at UNLV. He's previously held multiple positions in CCSD including Chief Student Achievement Officer, Associate Superintendent, Academic Manager, and Principal at Charles I. West Preparatory, Global Community High School, and Morris Behavior Junior/Senior High School.
Donald T. Haddad
Haddad is currently serving as the Superintendent at St. Vrain Valley Schools in Longmont, Colorado. He's also worked as a Deputy Superintendent and an Assistant Superintendent, as well as an Executive Director of Secondary Education for the same school district.
Shonda Hardman
Hardman works as a Coach, Consultant, and Urban Specialist for FranklinCovey, and travels across the country to help improve leadership and culture within school districts in the United States. Previously she's worked as a Chief School Support Officer for the Houston Independent School District, the Chief of Schools in Chicago Public Schools, and the Academic Superintendent/Assistant Chief Academic Officer in Boston Public Schools.
Jesus Jara
Currently, Jara serves as the Deputy Superintendent for Orange County Public Schools, and was previously appointed as the Monroe County Public Schools Superintendent in Florida. Previously he's worked as the Chief Operations Officer for Monroe County Public Schools, as well as the Executive Director for College Board Partnerships in Tallahassee, Florida.
Jesse Welsh
Welsh is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Professional Development for CCSD. He's also worked as an Academic Manager, an Interim Assistant Superintendent, Principal at Thurman White Empowerment Middle School, an Assistant Principal at Escobedo Middle School and Cram Middle School, and a Region Data Coordinator.
Eva White
White serves two roles, both as the Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services at Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools in Minnesota as well as a Professor in Educational Leadership at UNLV. She's previously worked for CCSD as an Interim Chief Financial Officer, an Assistant Superintendent, an Assistant Chief Student Achievement Officer, and more. She was also a Professor at NOVA University and an Instructor at Sierra Nevada College.
