HENDERSON (KTNV) — Henderson police will be targeting impaired drivers through an enhanced traffic enforcement program starting Friday.
The department said this enforcement is part of the Joining Forces program, where law enforcement agencies work together to help bring awareness to the importance of safe and sober driving.
Henderson police will dedicate extra officers for the enforcement patrols that are scheduled from Oct. 18 to Nov. 4.
Henderson police urged the public to use a designated sober driver, taxi, or a ride-sharing company to avoid the potentially devastating impacts of drunk or impaired driving.
The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the extra patrols.
Authorities say Nevada’s goal is Zero Fatalitieson valley roads.
