HENDERSON (KTNV) — Henderson police were called to investigate a report of a possible threat made against SLAM Academy over the weekend.
Authorities said they were notified about allegations that started circulating on social media on Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. that someone was going to bring a gun to the SLAM Academy campus on Monday.
The Henderson Police Department thoroughly investigated the allegations, according to HPD, since SLAM is not part of the Clark County School District, and the threat came back unfounded.
HPD and law enforcement agencies said they take these types of threats seriously and will hold those subjects accountable who engage in such criminal behavior to the fullest extent of the law.
Authorities also encouraged anyone with information on similar criminal behavior or rumors of potential violence to contact respective law enforcement agencies or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
