The city of Henderson is partnering with Touro University Nevada and Southern Nevada Health District to bring free and low cost healthcare services directly to the Pittman area.
The event aims to provide easy access to quality medical care for Henderson's underinsured and uninsured residents as part of the Pittman Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.
Touro's Mobile Healthcare Clinic and SNHD's Immunization Van will be at Wells Park, located at 1640 Price St., from 8 a.m. to noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except December). The schedule for the remainder of 2018 is Oct. 23 and Nov. 27.
No appointment is necessary and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. All ages are welcome and no insurance is needed.
A licensed physician assistant and students from Touro's Physician Assistant Studies program will diagnose and treat common family illnesses such as strep throat, ear infections and pink eye, provide routine lab tests and treat minor sprains and abrasions, for free. SNHD will offer common vaccinations such as flu, pneumonia, tetanus and hepatitis, for little to no cost depending on whether the patient has insurance coverage.
