A fundraiser is happening today for Officer Shay Mikalonis at Big B’s Texas BBQ on St. Rose Parkway in Henderson.
According to a post on Facebook, all of the day’s profits will be donated.
The Injured Police Officers Fund is at the event. They have been raising funds to help pay for Mikalonis’ treatment.
Mikalonis was shot June 1 near Circus Circus during a protest.
However, he was not shot by a protester. The man accused of shooting him was staying at a nearby Travelodge with a 17-year-old female.
Mikalonis is still on a ventilator and reportedly paralyzed.
