Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway launched its 18th season at a soft-opening on Nov. 8.
The VIP night welcomed nearly 300 guests to celebrate another year of the award-winning holiday drive-thru light show.
Guests included Human Nature, X Burlesque, BMX rider Ricardo Laguna, comedy-magician Adam London, hypnotist Anthony Cools, and many others.
Santa Claus also made a magical arrival to the lights in a horse-drawn carriage.
"We are so thankful to all of the lovers of lights that continue to return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway each year to celebrate such a beautiful season with us," said John Bentham, producer of Glittering Lights. "This holiday light show is about community, giving and creating memories, some of the things that make Christmas so special."
Continuing its 18-year tradition the drive-thru light show will host different initiatives to support local charities, churches, and schools.
According to an event spokesperson, the following community support includes:
- Speedway Children’s Charities receives a portion of each ticket sold. In fact, Glittering Lights and the PJ5K make up more than half the donations the charity grants to more than 50 children’s charities in southern Nevada.
- Goodwill of Southern Nevada collects clothing and household goods, transforming donated goods and monetary contributions into pathways to meaningful employment for Southern Nevadans in need.
- Purchase of food and drink from concessions, area Boy Scout troops gain interpersonal, money management and leadership skills, along with earning money for camp and activities.
Glittering Lights will be open every night until Jan. 6 and features 2.5 miles of over 3 million lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
