LATEST: Shocking dash cam and surveillance videos have been released after an NHP trooper shot and killed a carjacking suspect.
We're also now learning new information about why the suspect may have been in the valley.
As we watched the video of the pursuit, the most shocking thing for me was seeing how many people were in danger.
We saw surveillance video from inside the auto dealership where the shooting happened.
NHP says 28-year-old Javier Munoz was using the car as a weapon just before he was shot.
Now, investigators are still trying to figure out why Munoz was in Las Vegas.
NHP says he was from Glendale, Arizona. He did have distant family in the area, but they don't believe that's why he was here.
They say he may have only been here two days before going on the crime spree, which injured several people along the way.
Its still not clear if Munoz was under the influence during this pursuit and shooting. NHP says they are still waiting for toxicology results.
UPDATE: On Oct. 22, the Clark County Coroner identified the suspect as 28-year-old Javier Munoz from Glendale, Arizona.
Investigators are still working to figure out why he was in Las Vegas, saying he may have only been in town two days before the shooting.
The official cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Toxicology results are still pending.
THIRD UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the officer involved in this shooting as 17-year veteran Trooper David Dudley.
SECOND UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting that the suspect in this case has died. He was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital at 10:02 a.m. on Thursday.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the suspect’s identity once next of kin has been notified.
UPDATE: Police say during the initial carjacking, the suspect injured the driver and a witness who was trying to help. The suspect entered the freeway where he crashed into another vehicle during the pursuit with Nevada Highway Patrol.
The suspect kept going and proceeded to a Cadillac dealership where he carjacked an elderly couple. Police shot the suspect. All victims will survive, including the suspect.
13 Action News spoke with a witness, who said by the time the car got to Henderson, it was already on its rims.
"Just a few more seconds, and it could have hit me," says Susann Salazar.
Police say after the suspect got out on foot near the vehicle maintenance service line at Findlay Cadillac. They say the suspect threw the elderly man to the ground before running off again.
Officers closed in and shot the suspect in the torso.

HENDERSON, Nev. (KTNV) -- Northbound Gibson Road is blocked off between American Pacific Drive and Auto Show Drive due to law enforcement activity Wednesday morning.
Reports say that the Nevada Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a vehicle traveling westbound on the 215 beltway around 7:30 a.m. The vehicle exited at Gibson Road and crashed.
The suspect jumped out of the vehicle and attempted a carjacking. That's when he was shot by NHP officers.
Medical crews transported the suspect to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
