It's going to be windy, chilly and partly cloudy today in the Las Vegas valley.

A wind advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Friday for the Lake Mead, Lake Las Vegas, Searchlight, Primm, and Laughlin area. Those areas are expecting gusts up to 50 mph.

But, it will also be windy in the Las Vegas valley with wind gusts up to 50 mph.

That means there is also a dust advisory in effect for today and most of tomorrow.

At this time, unhealthy levels of dust are not occurring. However, anyone that is sensitive to dust such as children with asthma or bronchitis, the elderly or people with lung or heart disease may want to take precautions.

Back to the high temps for today, the wind is definitely a factor. The high temperatures for today are expected to range from 50 to 57 degrees. But, because of the wind, it will feel like it is between 39 and 46 degrees instead.

The winds should start to die down by Saturday afternoon, and the temperatures should be back in the high 50s by Monday.

The unfortunate news is that another cold front is headed our way and the temperatures are expected to drop again on Tuesday.
