In a statement to 13 Action News, Reid said:
I love Nevada, and I love the airport, and that will remain true for me regardless of what it's named. I am deeply humbled and grateful for the Clark County Commission's consideration and thoughtfulness.
Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom is leading the charge.
If approved, the move would cost about $2 million to replace things like signs and logos.
Segerblom says he would raise the funds privately to make it happen.
